Ian Mazmanian and Steven Baxter had been working together in the building industry for over ten years when they decided to form Metropolitan Building Consultants together in 1996. 

Their first project was a total gut and renovation of a small two family home in Cambridge, MA.  In the ten years since the completion of that first house, the company has grown to employ ten full time workers, gutted and renovated over ten homes, built a large house from the ground up, and done countless contracting projects. 

Many of the company's larger renovations have become beautiful upscale condos.  More recently, Metropolitan Building Consultants has entered a different side of the real estate market, by renting and managing its own luxury apartments.  Through it all, Ian and Steven have remained devoted to their original vision of superior craftsmanship and fine building.
